CHARLESTON, W.Va. – West Virginia Governor Patrick Morrisey is taking a personal approach to promoting wellness across the state. During a ceremony on Friday, he shared his commitment to making healthier choices and encouraged residents to join him on the journey toward better well-being.
“I’m embarking on this journey alongside you,” Morrisey stated. “I’m determined to make the tough choices necessary for a healthier life.”
His announcement came shortly after signing a bill that bans certain synthetic dyes in food products sold in West Virginia. The decision has sparked national attention, including praise from U.S. Secretary of Health and Human Services Robert Kennedy Jr.
“I commend Governor Morrisey and the state’s legislators for their bold leadership,” Kennedy said. “They are standing up to some of the most powerful industries in the world to prioritize the health of West Virginians. This sets a strong example for the rest of the nation.”
