A criminal duo’s run came to an abrupt end when West Virginia authorities intercepted a stolen truck, leading to the discovery of $70,000 worth of stolen property and a string of crimes across multiple states.
The investigation kicked off on March 1 in Romney, West Virginia, when police responded to the theft of a Frontier Communications vehicle. Using GPS tracking, authorities located the truck near Bedford, Pennsylvania.
Shortly after, another vehicle—a GMC truck—was reported stolen roughly 25 miles from the original theft site. Law enforcement soon spotted the stolen GMC hauling a trailer that had also been taken unlawfully. The driver, later identified as 30-year-old Lindesy Teresi of Cumberland, Maryland, was taken into custody.

However, her male accomplice managed to escape, driving the stolen Frontier truck while towing yet another stolen trailer. Days later, authorities tracked the vehicle to a campground west of Romney, where they uncovered an even bigger criminal operation.
Police arrested 43-year-old Johnathan Church of Goldsboro, Maryland, and 43-year-old Jarel Schaefer of Denton, Maryland, who had been hiding out in a stolen camper at the site. Officers also recovered additional stolen property, including off-road vehicles, generators, and 11 firearms—some of which were illegally modified AR-14 rifles.
Both Church and Schaefer, who were wanted fugitives in Maryland and Delaware, now face serious charges, including grand larceny, possession of stolen property, conspiracy, felon in possession of a firearm, and fugitive from justice violations.
As for Teresi, her partners-in-crime are out of the picture, and she’s likely facing significant time behind bars as well.
