The Public Service Commission (PSC) of West Virginia has launched an investigation into Waste Management of West Virginia following a complaint from Delegate Andy Shamblin, R-Kanawha.
Shamblin stated that he has received multiple complaints from residents in the Cross Lanes area of Kanawha County regarding missed trash collections.
In an official statement, the PSC acknowledged similar concerns.

“Customers have reported ongoing issues, including missed collection days, partial pickups, and a lack of communication regarding service schedule changes,” the commission said. “Some residents claim their trash has not been collected for weeks.”
The commission has ordered an investigation, with staff expected to submit findings within 30 days. On Wednesday, officials requested operational data from Waste Management to assess the extent of the reported issues.
Public input has already begun, with some residents supporting the inquiry while others question its necessity.
Waste Management operates in six regions across West Virginia, serving communities such as Charleston, Bridgeport, Martinsburg, and Parkersburg .
